I find that backpacking and climbing with a neck strap means I can expect my camera to slam against my chest with every step and dangle forward, slamming into rock faces when I lean forward to climb upwards. It's an amazing product, especially for hikers. The camera is very secure - doesn't flop around - allows me to easily protect it well.
The cap of the screw broke off and the plate fell on the ground. It has some latitude to slide along the bolt groove. I suspect in attempt to accommodate cameras with tripod mounts so close to the battery door. I have the v3 and use it regularly for everything but long distance, usually more than 70 mile, hikes. I've never had an issue with any loosening of the hand screw in bolts or it even remotely feeling insecure in any way.
That used to be a tiny GM1 but it's now a tiny GX850, so it's an even less stressful task than holding my larger body while lens swapping... Still tho, having it in easy reach outside of the bag is very handy and I end up using it more than were it inside the bag. My usage case is obviously not very demanding, I can't attest to how it handles large lens/body combos, etc. No, still too big to handle the camera manufacturer's design faults (tripod sockets belong in line with the lens, not somewhere to the outer parts).

After all, clip is only a tool, and isn't perfect for every single situation. It should be other way round-make the product work for the bag. If I'm the travller/hiker/student...or whatever, I don't want to choose my bag-the item I use the most based on a camera clip. Be careful… I just bought the Capture latest model…. And my Z7ii went flying and crashed to the ground! Overdesigned and so padded it’s rather rigid and not fun to use and appears to have limited capacity.
That’s the reason I gave up on the capture clip. As I mentioned earlier in this review, the Capture Clip can be of use wherever you might imagine attaching it. Mainly, I see its application in landscape or event photography. I furthermore see it as an alternative for harness systems, which are often used for events like weddings or portrait sessions.
Same for Canon G11, Nikon P7800, all Sigma Merills... Of course, I could have bought the V2 for the old Nikon but that was not on my mind for a old digital camera. It's like there was a competition for the ugliest way to carry a camera. I wonder how many people who claim that this is useless have ever tried climbing a mountain with a camera...
